The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is not a model. The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) with a locally elected board is a viable example of public ownership that can really empower local communities.
Power production should not have a profit motive. By producing it publicly, we can focus on the least expensive and most environmentally sound power.
There should be no patents on any life forms.
